BENZOIN RESIN

A beautifully fragrant resin presented in crumbly, grey-brown pieces naturally speckled with creamy white markings.
When warmed, Benzoin releases an intense, sweet and comforting fragrance with rich vanilla-like and balsamic notes. Unlike many resins, it does not fully melt when burned, instead gently evaporating and leaving very little residue.
Traditionally used as a base for incense blends and joss sticks, Benzoin combines beautifully with herbs, resins and essential oils. As its fragrance can become quite strong when burned alone, we recommend using only a small amount or blending it with gentler botanicals.
Energetically associated with Aphrodite, Venus and the Egyptian goddess Mut, Benzoin has long been worked with in rituals of love, prosperity, astral travel, transformation and shapeshifting. Its warm sweetness is believed to draw blessings inward while creating a comforting, protected atmosphere.
TO USE
Place a very small piece onto a lit charcoal disc in a heatproof incense burner, or blend with other herbs and resins before burning.
For incense use only. Use sparingly in a well-ventilated area and never leave burning incense unattended.
