A sacred aromatic gum gathered from various species of Bursera trees native to Central and South America. These trees belong to the same botanical family as Frankincense and Myrrh.

Traditional Maya Copal is a sticky white resin derived from the rare Protium copal tree. With naturally low yields, it is now often replaced by the more readily available Bursera Copal offered here.

Copal has held a deeply sacred place within Maya, Aztec and Inca cultures, where it was burned ceremonially as a precious offering to the divine. Both traditional white Copal and Bursera Copal continue to be treasured as sacred resins for purification, protection, healing, love and divination.

When warmed over charcoal, Copal releases a bright, uplifting fragrance with fresh citrus, pine and softly sweet resinous notes. Its smoke is traditionally used to clear stagnant energy, protect against the evil eye, support healing and create a pure, sacred atmosphere for ritual, meditation or intuitive work.

TO USE
Place a small piece onto a lit charcoal disc in a heatproof incense burner. Allow the fragrant smoke to gently move throughout your space.

For incense use only. Burn in a well-ventilated area and never leave unattended.
