~ What is the Sacral Chakra ~
The Sacral Chakra is the second Chakra in the body and is located just beneath the naval. The energy of the Sacral Chakra is associated with your innate creativity, emotions and sexuality.
The Sanskrit name for the Sacral Chakra is Svadhishthana. Sva means “Self” and adhishthana means “rule” or “dwelling place”. The combination of the two words to create the name Svadhishthana brings forth the literal meaning for the Chakra,
“place of self” or “place where self rules”.
By this definition, Svadhishthana is the Chakra that helps you to find your truest self by exploring your creativity, emotions and flow.

Symbol: The Svadhishthana symbol is a six-petalled lotus flower, which holds a circle and crescent moon within it. The moon at Svadhishthana's center represents the Chakra's ruling element, water. Just as the moon cycles affect the waters of the ocean with it's magnetic pull, it also affects the our energetic body.

~ Svadhishthana Self-Care Rituals ~
RITUAL BATH: Having a ritual bath is a beautiful form of self-care for all occasions, but especially for the Sacral Chakra. Fill the tub with warm water, add any of the mentioned essential oils or a mix of them, add some epsom salts and dried flowers if you have any, lights some candles around the bathroom and allow yourself to relax and soak in the blissful energy.
CREATE: The sacral chakra is the energy center of creativity, so one of the best ways to heal and activate this energy centre is to create. Any form of creativity that inspires you & that allows you to release control and go with the flow is perfect. Paint, draw, write, cook, bake, or choose your activity of choice to express your divine creativity. For me this becomes meditation in movement, and the more you can be in your creative flow & trust, the more expansion & abundance you feel flow into your life.
MEDITATION: Meditation is a powerful practice for healing all of your chakras. Meditating is simply the act of mindful breathing, of finding a quiet spot to be and to breathe and to arrive home, here, grounded, present, in this moment.
I love to meditate in the morning because it allows you to get grounded, centered, and stable as you start your day. Use meditation to connect with your foundation and to breathe calm, strength, and peace into every cell of your body.
For sacral chakra meditation, I love to incorporate a mantra, the breath & a little movement. SA TA NA MA (short-form) is awesome for this or any breath awareness meditation.
And if you're saying to yourself as you read this..... I don't have time to meditate, I promise you, as you expand in your meditation practice (i.e. give it a go every day for 3 weeks), you will see your time expand, meditation brings clarity, overtime it will prevent you from running around like a headless chook, meditation brings grounding and presence, overtime it will give you the tools, the power to have less overwhelm and anxiety, and you will truly experience having more time in your day.
COLOUR THERAPY: Immerse yourself in all things orange - the colour of abundance, joy & happiness! This could mean eating orange foods or wearing orange clothing; surrounding yourself with orange items; creating with the color orange.
